Fulbright Foreign Student Program in the United States for Kosovo Citizens (FFSP)

This program brings Kosovo citizens to the United States for postgraduate (master) degree programs at U.S. universities. Students apply for Fulbright Fellowships through the U.S. Embassy in Pristina.

The program has brought some of the world’s finest minds to U.S. campuses and offers program participants insight into U.S. society and values. Many foreign Fulbright grantees are early-career professionals who will return to take leadership positions in their home countries, often working in the public sector including in government or at universities.

This program is jointly funded by the U.S. Department of State and the Government of Kosovo.

Eligibility Requirements

• Completed university degree (undergraduate)

• Proficiency in English at a level sufficient to undertake graduate studies in the United States;

• Kosovo citizenship and/or permanent residence in Kosovo. (Please note U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents are not eligible to apply.)

• The majority of fields of study are eligible with the exception of medical studies (though public health and global health are eligible).

• Each page of the following application carries its own instructions, which should be read carefully.

• Every question must be answered completely and carefully. Please limit your responses to the space provided.

• Completed applications should be submitted online.

• Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Standardized Tests

Applicants are not required to take the TOEFL test prior to being accepted into the program. Once an applicant is selected as a primary or alternate candidate, he or she will be required to take the official TOEFL test and will receive instructions on how to apply.

The TOEFL test is an admissions requirement at all U.S. universities for applicants whose native language is not English.

Please note that some finalists may also be required to take the GRE or GMAT, depending on their field of study, to be considered for admission into a U.S. graduate program.

Other Important Information

Change of Plans: You should promptly inform the U.S. Embassy of any change in your academic status or future plans after your application has been submitted.

A complete application includes:

• An application form submitted online (do not submit a paper copy to U.S. Embassy Pristina)

• A detailed statement of proposed activity (personal statement and study objectives essay)

• A detailed curriculum vitae

• Three letters of reference

The following documents should be scanned and attached to your online application. Documents should be scanned in PDF and each scanned document may not be bigger than 2 MB.

• A copy of bio page of your passport

• A copy of your B.A. degree/diploma and university transcripts (certified translation into English or verified copies of original academic transcript)

• A letter from your employer confirming employment, if you are employed

• Any optional supplementary documents
