2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. Students Arrival Orientation in Kosovo
On September 26-27, the United States-Kosovo Educational Exchange Board (USKEB), hosted an arrival orientation for the 2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. grantees in Kosovo.
On the first day of the arrival, Anu Prattipati, the Chargé d'affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo welcomed the Fulbrighters to Prishtina and wished them an enriching experience that will enhance cross-cultural communication and strengthen ties between the two countries.
The American Councils staff, which administers the USKEB, provided an introduction for the grantees that included general guidance on what to expect and tips for success during their program year in Kosovo. They covered essential topics such as daily living arrangements, cultural interactions, and health & wellness. The Fulbrighters participated in a Q&A session, where they discussed best practices for adapting quickly to their new environment.
Furthermore, U.S. Embassy representatives shared important advice on security measures and health considerations relevant to U.S. Fulbrighters. Additionally, Fulbrighters had the opportunity to connect with USKEB members to learn more about the Fulbright experience and the alumni community in Kosovo.
The second day brought representatives from the Kosovo host institutions, Kosovo Fulbright alumni, and other key stakeholders, fostering collaboration for the program's duration. Key moments included an overview of higher education and English language teaching in Kosovo, followed by discussions with host institution representatives about their roles and responsibilities. Fulbrighters also had the opportunity to hear firsthand experiences from former Fulbrighters in Kosovo, sharing valuable insights and tips.
The event wrapped up with a warm reception, allowing Fulbrighters to connect and engage in meaningful conversations.
Throughout the 2024-2025 academic year, several institutions, including the University of Prishtina, American Advising Center, and American Corners will benefit from the valuable contributions of Fulbright ETAs, Student Researchers, and Scholars.
